To all San Francisco drivers who got hit by a parking ticket, I totally get your frustration.
The founding story
I am Aboud. I’ve been living in San Francisco for over 5 years now. My roommate Hamza and I used to live on Pine St between Mason and Taylor. We shared a 1997 Ford Taurus and couldn’t afford a parking garage, so we parked on street. We would move the car every now and then for street cleaning. Once in a while, we would get a parking ticket.
One day I couldn’t find the car. Hamza had parked on a spot on Pine St with no street cleaning in the next days. He forgot about the daily tow away from 3 pm to 6 pm… The car had gotten towed and that ticket was $569! 😡
A little while after, Hamza and I decided to make fixing parking our mission. We created a free app called SpotAngels that helps you find cheap parking and sends you reminders to move your car before street cleaning, tow away hours and all other parking restrictions.
Because we know how frustrating and unexpected parking tickets are, we’d like to help those who didn’t know about SpotAngels. SpotAngels is organizing a weekly draw to relieve some drivers who got ticketed.
